HIGH-SCHOOL-AGE
GIRLS LACROSSE PLAYERS
2010 Senior League

The Girls’ Lacrosse Association of Anne Arundel County (GLAAAC) and Anne Arundel County Rec & Parks will again sponsor a Senior League for high-schoolers (grades 9-12) who do not play for a high school lacrosse team (Varsity, JV or Fresh/Soph) this spring.  This is the fifth season for the league. Last year we had over 140  girls divided among 7 teams and played a full schedule on full fields.
The league has been set up for players who do not make their high school teams or other players who would simply like to compete in a less time-consuming format.

1)      How do I sign up?
Registration is on-line and can be accessed by clicking HERE.  Cost is $90. Payment instructions will be displayed as soon as you register on-line.    Please register and pay as soon as possible. You are not officially registered until we receive payment. We would expect to be able to accommodate all players who wish to play, but if for some reason we have to restrict the number of players, those accepted will be on a first to register basis. If you have problems, please e-mail Don Harrison at glaaac.org or call him at 410 544 6520.
2) Should I register even if I am trying out for my high school team?
Yes. If you would like to play if you do not make your high school team, please register as soon as possible, and send a check per registration instructions.  (Your check will not be cashed if you make the team.)  This does not commit you to play, but it will help us to determine the location and nature of our teams, and help us to determine # of uniforms to order. You can indicate an interest in playing if you do not make your high school team on the last page of the registration form by checking “Check if you WILL ONLY play for the Senior League if you are cut by your High School team.”
       3) Where will teams be located?
This will depend on concentrations of interested players, but last year we had 3 teams in Severna Park, 1 in Arnold and 3 in Annapolis. We will attempt to group girls together from the same high school.
4)       When will the season start? How many games will be played? Practices?
Games will start end of March – early April and run through Memorial Day. 10-12 games will be scheduled. The majority of the games will be held on Sunday afternoons, and the rest during the week. Most teams practice twice a week. Practice schedules are determined by the team’s coach.  Practices should start around the beginning of March.
5)      After I register, when will I be contacted about my team?
You should be contacted by your coach in early March.
6)      If I am a 9th grader, do I play in the Senior League or the Junior League?
In the past, 9th graders who were not playing high school ball could play in the Junior League or in the Senior League. This season, 9th graders must play in the Senior League unless granted a waiver by the County.
7)      Do I have to live in Anne Arundel County to play?
No. You can live outside the county. Also, teams from outside the county are invited to play. If you would like to enter a team from outside the county, please contact Don Harrison at
      8) Will this interfere with summer club lacrosse?
No. Senior League season ends before club lacrosse begins

 What is GLAAAC?
The Girls’ Lacrosse Association of Anne Arundel County is the umbrella organization for the rec league programs in the county. All rec league programs such as St. Marys, Severna Park, Broadneck, CYLA, Davidsonville, etc. are members. It writes the rules of play for the rec leagues, works with Game Guardians to coordinate referees, and acts as a liaison between the programs and Anne Arundel County Rec and Parks.

To those of you who try out for your high school teams, best of luck and we hope you make it! But if you don’t, you’ll have a place to play and enjoy yourself
                                   Don Harrison
                                   Senior League Commissioner, GLAAAC
